It is very rare to come across a local company that has the technical expertise and financial capacity to explore and produce hydrocarbons, especially in a developing country like Ghana, a country that began commercial oil production just in 2011.  In the exploration and production space of oil and gas, some names like ENI, Kosmos, Aker, Tullow and the likes are very common to hear. SPRINGFIELD E&P SECURES OIL RIG TO BEGIN APPRAISAL WORKS OF A NEW OIL FIELD.

Springfield Exploration and Production (E&P) has contracted the Deepsea Bollsta rig from Northern Ocean Limited (NOL) to oversee the appraisal of the Afina-1x well in the offshore West Cape Three Points Block 2 (WCTP-2) of Ghana. This partnership, alongside the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and GNPC Explorco, marks a strategic initiative aimed at completing the unitisation process for the Afina-Sankofa oil fields. The unitisation process is anticipated to deliver substantial value to the government and all stakeholders. Scheduled to commence in October, the well test represents a significant milestone for Springfield as it strives to become the inaugural independent African oil producer in deep waters.
